UT Dallas' SACSCOC Project


The University of Texas at Dallas continues to participate as a member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (the Commission) and has developed this project website to share its latest review of the university's progress toward compliance with the Principles of Accreditation. "Accreditation by SACSCOC signifies that the institution (1) has a mission appropriate to higher education, (2) has resources, programs, and services sufficient to accomplish and sustain that mission, and (3) maintains clearly specified educational objectives that are consistent with its mission and appropriate to the degrees it offers, and that indicate whether it is successful in achieving its stated objectives." This website includes links to the current project, the Fifth-Year Interim Report, and to the previous project, which was the Reaffirmation Study for the period 1997-2007. Supporting documentation is referenced within the written text and at the end of each compliance certification. Documents containing sensitive information remain encrypted and require approved access; other documents are publicly available.

The 2015 Project Leadership Team

Effective April 2015, Assistant Provost for Policy and Program Coordination Serenity King () serves as the University's Liaison to the Commission and works with the Project Leadership Team, composed of Dr. Mary Jo Venetis (), Dr. Gloria Shenoy (), Dr. Michael Carriaga (), and Assistant Provost Simon Kane () who leads the technical support team, including Mr. Robert Leeper, Ms. Ramona Metcalf, and Ms. Rosa Thompson.

The 2014 Fifth-Year Interim Report

The current SACSCOC Project reflects the university's development of the Fifth-Year Interim Report, which is designed by the Commission to provide continuous monitoring of institutions and to review newly initiated sites between decennial affirmation reviews. The Interim Report, to be submitted by March 25, 2014, contains documentation and evidence of compliance within a subset of the Principles (see below), and a QEP Impact Report based on the Gateways to Excellence in Math and Science (GEMS) Project.
